About Us
Bola de Pêlo is a veterinary practice situated in the village of Varge Mondar (Albarraque), at the junction of the municipalities of Sintra, Cascais and Oeiras.
We primarily serve the residents of Rio de Mouro, São Pedro de Sintra, Algueirão – Mem Martins, Agualva, Cacém, São Domingos de Rana and Alcabideche.
This project was launched in 2008, initially operating from a very simple set-up centred solely on our Clinical Director, Joana Brito, who has been a veterinary surgeon since 2000. This has allowed us to develop a close, personal relationship with our clients. We know our patients and their owners by name, and we believe this forms the foundation and starting point for a solid, long-lasting relationship, fostering mutual respect and trust. The satisfaction felt by our clients has led to new clients who trust the recommendations they have received and decide to come and meet us. As a result, we have been able to grow in a balanced way, which has allowed us to expand our team and continuously improve our facilities.
We work 54 hours a week, from Monday to Saturday, without a lunch break, so that you can book your appointment at the clinic without it clashing with your work commitments. We operate on an appointment-only basis so that we can devote our full attention to you and your pet, minimising waiting times and the stress this causes for both owners and pets. We offer the following services: vaccinations, consultations, surgery, hospitalisation, ultrasound scans, diagnostic tests, bathing and grooming, home visits, emergency care, as well as the sale of pet food and veterinary products.
